Why? Anyone? Just why?

Sometimes you open your photo app on your phone and find pictures like this.

Was it an accidental finger snap?

If so, why are those people bending in unison?

Isn’t that Calvin and Oscar?

Are they casing after a rolling quarter or a dropped and bouncing jelly bean?

Where’d they get jelly beans?!

Or maybe the picture was on purpose?

Then who took it?

And why this pose?

Is it a race or yoga?

Sometimes being Martin means more questions then answers and that’s just from opening your photo app.

The Martins find their people in the Madison High School Theater Dept. Emma joined her freshman year and every Martin has been in its circle/circular grip? ever since.

Being apart of “Play” (as we super cool drama people call it) means earning the cash for the essential items to put on the play… because an important part of Arts Education is teaching young artists to hu$tle!

Really, though, even if a score isn’t kept, this sports obsessed town is supportive. Local gas station Classic Corner gives 25 cents for every gallon pumped during a busy Friday night:

And the kids earn even more in tips!

Thank you Madison and thank you MHS Theater (Ms. Brown) and thank you drama kids for never hesitating when I shout: “Now a silly one!!!”

Lisa Turns 46, again

This last July I turned 46. I thought I was already 46 and I was Turing 47 so it was a little disappointing.

Actually the whole day was a bit of a drag. Don’t get me wrong, I was glad the Sorsensons joined us over the Independence Day holiday but a birthday right after the work and over eating of the 4th has lost its charm. I’m considering changing it. March seems nice. March is dull & sad & bleak at the end of winter. It needs cake. I think I’ve convinced myself. My next birthday is March and I’ll be 47!
