Just So I Don't Forget

*2012 Some duplicate photos*
He, all of them really, are growing so fast! I've become a picture taking maniac. Taking pictures of the strangest thing so I'll remember. I don't want to forget that cute snuggly face in the mornings.

And it's time to give this bouncy seat up. Oscar's grown out of it. So has Emma, (the first to be in it) and Taran, Enoch, Calvin, and Willa.
They all used it. Some of them even liked it. I loved it. It meant I could put down a baby and maybe get a shower. It was a first highchair so David and I could eat. And it is so 1999 developmentally appropriate, that's when they thought babies could only see black, white and red and they cautioned against stomach sleeping but side sleeping was just fine. First feedings were at 4 months old and rice cereal was what they ate.

And I just need to add these somewhere, pictures of the two littlest at the Minnesota Children's Museum.

Willa sweeping up in the restaurant.  Notice the boots on the wrong feet.

Kiss Me, We'll Pretend We're Irish

This year we ate our annual St. Patrick's Day dinner the day after March 17. We had Corned Beef with all the trimmings, cabbage, boiled potatoes and that cereal with the stale marshmallows...all very authentic, all very Irish, I'm sure.
Sugar cereal!

And since Lucky Charms is Irish FOOD, we still needed dessert.  Emma made some very yummy brownies.

Oscar got into the spirit and gave out kisses for dessert. He grabs you by the face or neck and pulls you in for a slobbery bite/kiss.

Faith and begorrah! What a snog leprechaun, he is!

Easter Prep

Spring!  The amazing renewal of the earth and soul.

Emma, inspired, took the camera and snapped pictures of new growth from every angle...
Emma's feet in the middle.
Spring means Easter, Easter means eggs, and eggs need preparation.
Dying the eggs.
Eggs also need nests!

Calvin showing off the eggs for the traditional rice crispy nests.

Nests made out of ooey, gooey marshmallows and crispy cereal.
Delicious mess.
Our own little chick, safe in his "nest."

April's Fool 2012

Plastic wrap, it didn't turn out as well as I'd hoped it would, it's hard to control. But it was worth the try and fun for the kids.

I was inspired by the old plastic wrap the toilet thing, but because I'm not a glutton for punishment (I'd be the one that cleans up that mess), I wrapped just about everything else.

The bathroom sink:  drain and faucet.

David didn't know what hit him when he tried to get down the stairs in the morning.  Unfortunately, the picture is fuzzy, but that's point, it's hard to see plastic wrap.  I circled the tape that holds the wrap in place.
The stairs were blocked off with a sheet of plastic.
After David's run in on the stairs, the kids found the front door wrapped.
Calvin showing me that he's not fooled.
Although they went through the house and found the drawers sealed and toys wrapped, they didn't find the plates until dinner time.

Calvin decided to keep the wrap on his plate while he ate.
