Happy Birthday David!

Happy 3?th Birthday to my man!
Besides being the bread-winner and father to our brood, David is my best pal and a darn good looking man! He’s great for shoulder rubs and quirky on-the-spot songs. I love this man who loves a good meal and knows the perfect root beer to drink with it. He has the best laugh ever! He’s always up for a late night movie (unless he has a paper to read because then he quickly falls asleep on the couch), he is a great friend to hang out with for eternity.

King David

The daddy game of Blum-Blum.

One of the reasons I love this man so much: I had a hard time finding a picture of him without his children being in it. He loves his "babies."

He's such a champion for health food!

Watch out! He's a warrior ninja husband.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY! I love you David!

Charity Never Faileth

Today while baking so-sorry-your-life-sucks-muffins for my neighbor whose cars (yes plural) windows got smashed, I had my own vandal at work upstairs. Enoch destroyed my pretty woven laundry hamper with an egg beater, colored the walls with a ball point pen, and colored and dented his wooden dollhouse. Still, in the grand scheme of things, I think I prefer an inside job.

The last straw after a hard day.

Its strange how one part of your brain can say, “You’re going to break the garbage can lid if you keep whacking it with the potato masher like that. And look at all the potato goop flying through the air. Who do you think is going to clean that up?”
While another darker part screams, “Hit it! Hit it again! Again!!!”
Then the rational part breaks in, “You’re scaring Emma. Look, she’s cringing at the awful beast you’ve suddenly devolved into.”
The second part yells, “Good!!! Keep hitting it! Maybe she’ll understand that you’re a little miffed!”
Fortunately, for me, the first brain wins because I really don’t want to break the garbage can, I don’t like cleaning mash potato mess, and I don’t want to be a monster. But then the darker half turns to Emma and shrieks out loud, “Go to your room!”
Isn’t that amazing?
